We seek an experienced commercial roofing estimator in North Richland Hills, TX.

Only qualified candidates in the commercial construction industry will be considered.

Your duties will include estimating low slope liquid applied and coating systems, metal and composition shingles, re-roofs, retrofits, and some new construction. We trust in your expertise to gather information, use Blue Beam, Edge, and similar estimating tools, attend meetings, review historical data, conduct roof surveys, make labor and material calculations, track contracts, prepare bid packages, and utilize estimating software to finalize plans and provide technical support throughout the project. Your role is integral to our operations.

A commercial roofing estimator also needs to be able to read plans and understand building and safety regulations that apply to the project. Additional qualifications include time management skills to meet deadlines, negotiation skills, and reliable transportation to work sites.

Summary:

Generate detailed cost analysis and scope of work estimates using historical data, contractor quotes, and site surveys. Provide clients and stakeholders with thorough explanations of pricing and cost details based on gathered data and further estimates of projected maintenance costs and expected product lifetime.

Experience:

• 7+ in the construction industry as a commercial roof estimator
• Proficiency in computer skills

Key Result Areas and Accountabilities:

• Pre-estimating
• Verify the accuracy and completeness of bid documents received from the owner
• Distribute bid documents to subcontractors
• Respond to subcontractor inquiries
• Select and engage approved subcontractors
• Maintain drawing logs throughout the estimating process

Estimating:

• Perform or delegate quantity takeoffs/surveys as required
• Be familiar with technical low slope roof assemblies, including FM Global, and all deck types, including wood, metal, concrete, tectum, etc.
• Set up and develop the project estimate and detailed scopes of work for each trade
• Input and price quantity takeoffs/surveys as required
• Stay updated on current construction practices, unit costs, and trends
• Attend pre-bid meetings, city meetings, and client meetings as needed
• Conduct preliminary site investigations as required
• Thoroughly review all plans and specifications for bid projects early in the bid process
• Help secure Bid Bonds as necessary
• Manage bid day activities, including the delivery of proposals, screening, and selection of vendor quotes
• Offer value engineering proposals
• Prepare bid qualifications as required
• Solicit bids and value engineering proposals from subcontractors and suppliers

Education:

• High school diploma
• Bachelor's Degree

Compensation:

 

• $80,000 - 100,000 plus commission (negotiable based on candidate experience)
• Benefits package and performance-based incentive/bonus program
